Commission Terms

These terms apply to all artwork commissioned from ViddInk. By commissioning a piece and paying the deposit, you (the “Client”) agree to these terms. Please read them before placing a commission.

1. The commission process

  1. You send an enquiry through the contact form with a description of what you'd like, and any reference images.
  2. We discuss the details and agree on the scope, price, and an estimated timeframe.
  3. You pay a 50% deposit to confirm and reserve your slot.
  4. Work begins. You'll be shown progress and given the chance to request revisions (see below).
  5. Once the piece is approved, you pay the remaining 50%.
  6. The final, full-resolution files are delivered after final payment is received.

2. Pricing & payment

  • Prices are quoted in euros (€) and confirmed before work begins.
  • A 50% deposit is required up front to start a commission.
  • The remaining 50% is due on completion, before final files are delivered.
  • Accepted payment methods: 【your methods — e.g. PayPal / MobilePay / bank transfer】.
  • Any taxes (e.g. VAT), if applicable, will be stated in your quote.

3. Revisions

Your commission includes rounds of minor revisions depending on which tier you purchased (small adjustments to colour, detail, or positioning). Larger changes, or changes to the agreed concept after work has started, may incur an additional fee, quoted before any extra work is done.

4. Turnaround

Timeframes given are good-faith estimates, not guarantees, and depend on the complexity of the piece and current workload. If a significant delay arises, we'll keep you informed.

5. Cancellations & refunds

  • The 50% deposit is non-refundable once work has begun, as it reserves your slot and covers work already carried out.
  • If you cancel before any work has started, the deposit may be refunded at our discretion, minus any costs already incurred.
  • If we are unable to complete your commission, you'll receive a refund for any work not delivered.

6. Copyright & usage

  • ViddInk retains the copyright and original ownership of all artwork created.
  • Unless otherwise agreed in writing, commissions are for personal, non-commercial use (e.g. personal display, profile pictures, prints for yourself).
  • Commercial use (merchandise, branding, resale, NFTs, etc.) requires a separate agreement and licence fee — just ask.
  • You may share the artwork online for personal use, with credit to ViddInk.
  • We may display the finished work in our portfolio and on social media, unless you ask us in advance to keep it private.
  • Artwork created by ViddInk may not be used to train AI / machine-learning models.

7. Reference material

You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to any reference images you provide. Please don't send material you don't own or have permission to use.

8. What we will and won't draw

We're happy to take on a wide range of subjects. We reserve the right to decline any request we're not comfortable with.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, ViddInk's liability in connection with a commission is limited to the amount you paid for that commission.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Finland. Any disputes will be handled by the competent Finnish courts. As a consumer, you also retain any rights you have under mandatory Finnish and EU consumer law.

11. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in effect when you place your commission is the one that applies to it.
